WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH needs no introduction, with 383 registered progeny on the ASHS database, producing horses that have excelled in both their performance and breeding. Omega won Champion Ridden Horse at the 1989 and 1990 Sydney Royal Show and was the 1990 Warwick Gold Cup winner and runner-up in 1996. The 1990 Warwick Gold Cup had seven other WARRENBRI ROMEO – IS HSH progeny in the winners’ lineup. Lindsay Knight said, “Omega was extremely powerful but soft in the mouth, cattle couldn’t get away from him”.
Phillip purchased a half share in Omega on the instinct that he would mesh well with his broodmares, and he wasn’t wrong. There are 124 registered foals carrying the Kirkbys Stud prefix and sired by Omega.

WARRENBRI ROMEO – IS HSH is considered the most influential Impact Sire in the Australian Stock Horse studbook with over 11,500 descendants (ASHS article). His progeny have won everything there is to win in campdrafting.
V BAR N BONNET – HSH, and her dam HUMEWOOD BLUE BOW – FM HSH (ASHS article), were influential broodmares. Bonnet had six foals which were all full brothers and sisters to Omega. These included WARRENBRI ROSIE (dam of BONLAC ESCORT), and WARRENBRI EVE who topped the 2006 Australian Stock Horse Sale at Dalby at $47,500 and dam of BOONARA MENTOR. V Bar N Bonnet is one of the leading producing dams in the Elite Campdraft Horses list (as printed in the Aug-Sep 2025 edition of The Australian Campdrafting magazine).
Progeny
Below is a select number of Omega’s high-performing progeny…there are too many to list them all, so have kept the list to the predominant ones used or bred by the stud.
KIRKBYS STUD OFFICER – HSH
Officer, out of KIRKBYS STUD EPAULET – HSH, was one of Omega’s earlier successful stallion sons. He won the 1999 Warwick Stallion Campdraft.

KIRKBYS STUD THEO – HSH
Theo was the first Stallion ever to win the ‘double’ – the ASH National Futurity in 2004 and the National Maturity in 2005 – as well as a long list of other championship achievements. Theo has gone on to sire multiple Royal Show and National Champions, open campdrafters and very successful polocrosse horses.

BLUFF DOWNS BEGA
Bega was the Reserve Champion Working Horse and Reserve Champion Station Horse 2005 ASHS National Championships. He has been described as a refined stallion with a fast walk, a huge stride, is smooth to ride, and is topped off by an amazing temperament.

KIRKBYS STUD OCTAGONAL – HSH
Octagonal, like all Omega horses, has a fantastic temperament and a good work ethic. His dam and BINNIA IMPRESSIVE DESTINY’s dam are full sisters.
