KIRKBYS RUBY – HSH

KIRKBYS RUBY – HSH (by KIRKBYS COBALT – IS HSH and out of KIRKBYS COMPANION – HSH) was an open and junior campdraft winner – Lindsay Knight won the 1977 Junior Campdraft at Boolcarrol riding Ruby. She was a very versatile mare who was sure-footed and quick on course, winning multiple campdrafts in various conditions. Ruby produced three foals (KIRKBYS BAGUETTE – HSH, KIRKBYS STUD OMEN – HSH, and KIRKBYS STUD ROSIE – HSH):

1. KIRKBYS BAGUETTE – HSH

Baguette (by VALENTINE STUD MASTER LUKE – FS HSH and out of KIRKBYS RUBY – HSH) was an open campdraft mare that was an excellent broodmare, producing 11 foals.

Baguette’s foals:

2. KIRKBYS STUD CAMEO – HSH, a mare by WARRENBRI ROMEO – IS HSH, can be seen in many pedigrees as she bred three filly foals that produced numerous campdraft winners. Cameo’s granddaughter, KIRKBYS STUD BONITA – HSH, is the dam of EAGLE HUSTLER – HSH (open campdraft stallion) and EAGLE CONNIE – HSH (sold for $90,000 at the 2025 Nutrien Classic Sale). Bonita’s full sister, KIRKBYS STUD SABLE – HSH, is an open campdrafting mare. Cameo is also the maternal granddam of GLENMORE PARTNERSHIP PRARIE – HSH is the dam of successful campdrafters for Royce Hanrahan in SELECT LITTLE MOORE SPARKLE and SELECT MISS RARITY.
3. KIRKBYS STUD OMEO – HSH (by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH) was a stallion sold to Richard Luck at Dalby ASH Sale and went on to a successful campdrafting career. Omeo produced very good all-round horses that suited all family members.
4.KIRKBYS STUD OREGON – HSH, a gelding by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH and owned by Richard and Debbie Saddler.
5. KIRKBYS STUD OVERSEER – HSH, a gelding by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH.
6. KIRKBYS MEDIC – HSH, a stallion by KIRKBYS STUD REMEDY – IS HSH that produced several foals for Gwen MacMillan’s Donrica Stud.
7. KIRKBYS STUD COOL – HSH, a mare by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH who produced five foals, including open campdraft horses TARRAWAY CLARA and TARRAWAY FROST – HSH ridden by Jim Daley, and TARRAWAY RAINEY – HSH.
8. KIRKBYS STUD GRAPHITE – HSH, a gelding by KIRKBYS STUD REMEDY – IS HSH.
9. KIRKBYS STUD LUKE – HSH, a gelding by KIRKBYS STUD REMEDY – IS HSH.
10. KIRKBYS STUD IMAGE – HSH, a mare by ADIOS REFLECT – IS HSH, is the dam of MONSOON ACRES who sold to Bronson Macklinshaw for $25,000 at the 2020 Nutrien Classic Sale, later placing in the Nutrien Classic Challenge Final in 2021, and has gone on to be a successful campdrafing mare. Image is also the dam of ONE LAST DUCK, a successful campdrafting gelding.

Omen (by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH and out of KIRKBYS RUBY – HSH) was a sucessful campdraft stallion, siring 32 foals.

3. KIRKBYS STUD ROSIE – HSH

Rosie (by YALLATUP RIVOLI REX – IS HSH and out of KIRKBYS RUBY – HSH) was the dam of two mares.

ROSIE’s foals:
1. KIRKBYS STUD ODELL – HSH, a mare by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH and is the dam of two foals.
2. EMAR ECSTASY – HSH, a mare by KIRKBYS STUD OMEN – HSH.

KIRKBYS CARNELIAN – HSH

KIRKBYS CARNELIAN – HSH (by KIRKBYS COBALT – IS HSH and out of KIRKBYS COMPANION – HSH) was sold at the Melbourne Royal Sale in November 1977 for $2,300 to George Richardson, after winning the led colt class. Carnelian sired 46 foals, primarily for the Richardson family’s Eureka Stud.

KIRKBYS GARNET – HSH

Garnet (by KIRKBYS COBALT – IS HSH and out of KIRKBYS COMPANION – HSH) was sold at the 1980 Dalby ASH Sale to Noel Mobbs, Mt. Isa, Qld, who judged the led classes preceding the sale. He paid $2,550 for the bay mare. Garnet had one foal, MARATHONS SOPHIE (by BENALLA Lloyd), a prolific breeder with 7 foals.
