White horse, white ribbon – at least they’re a perfect match, even if it’s not the blue one we were chasing! We’re super happy that KIRKBYS STUD ELVIS snagged 3rd in the Restricted Open at the 2026 Maldon Campdraft, after putting together two challenging but consistent rounds. The big grey stallion proved his mettle in a strong field, displaying class and consistency while continuing to build momentum as a team with Murph at just their second campdraft together.
The weekend saw only our Novice and Open horses make the trip to Maldon, and they certainly made the most of it.
MCNAMARA CONBRACE put in a standout performance in the first round of the Novice, producing a cracking 88-point run that showcased everything we love about this mare—calm control in the yard, smooth transitions, and plenty of cow sense on the outside. While the cards didn’t quite fall our way in the final, it was still an outstanding effort, especially considering she only broke her Novice status last weekend. With form like this, Conbrace is shaping into a serious contender for the season ahead.
Although KASPERS VERSACE didn’t feature in the ribbons this weekend, she delivered a pair of solid, confident runs that showed exactly what she’s made of, especially her cut outs. Her focus and responsiveness continue to improve with each outing, and she’s proving her worth as a very talented and consistent mare. It’s only a matter of time before everything clicks and she finds herself back in the winners circle.
