We’re absolutely thrilled to officially welcome MCNAMARA CONBRACE to our mare band—now affectionately known as ‘Bubbles’. The nickname came about after the Dalby Sale, when we joked that for her price tag, we might have to keep her wrapped in bubble wrap! Bubbles was purchased for an incredible $170,000 at this year’s Dalby Stock Horse Sale, she set a new sale record and turned plenty of heads. Ironically, we hadn’t planned on buying any horses that day—but sometimes the right one just finds you.
From the moment she stepped into the ring for the pre-works, Bubbles impressed with her size, strength, athleticism, and quiet presence. She’s a beautifully balanced mare with ability to match her quiet temperament—the kind that instantly ticks all the boxes. Beyond her conformation and presence, her pedigree speaks volumes. She’s by the legendary HAZELWOOD CONMAN, one of the most influential sires in the history of the Australian Stock Horse breed, and out of MCNAMARA EMBRACE, an accomplished open campdrafter with a remarkable record in competition. This proven blend of performance, temperament, and heritage genetics is exactly what we value most in our breeding program.
Bringing Bubbles home marks an exciting new chapter for Kirkbys Stud. Her combination of style, substance, and heritage offers enormous potential, both in the campdraft arena and as a future broodmare. There’s a real buzz around what she’ll bring to the program, and we can’t wait to see her step into the camp in the coming seasons, then later welcome her first foals on the ground.
Sometimes it feels like certain horses are meant to cross your path and we’ve got no doubt that Bubbles was one of them. Exciting times ahead for this gorgeous mare.
