The 50th Annual Dalby Stock Horse Sale commemorated its golden anniversary, and to celebrate, the Kirkbys Stud sponsored a Memory Lane. Kirkbys Stud was proud to support this fantastic event, reflecting on the memories and achievements that have shaped the Dalby Stock Horse Sale since it commenced in 1974.

For me, this sponsorship is especially meaningful, as my parents, Phillip and Sylvia Kirkby, were at the very first Dalby Sale. It was fantastic that Mum was with me this year to celebrate the milestone. Being part of such a significant event is a beautiful way to carry on my parent’s legacy.

The Kirkbys Stud influence throughout the sale’s history has seen eight horses top the sale in one of the categories (mare, stallion, gelding), plus Kirkbys Stud horses were the second top price seven times. It’s also interesting to note that Kirkbys Stud stallions or mares were the sire or dam of another eight top-priced horses.

I’d like to thank the Dalby Australian Stock Horse Sale Committee, the Darling Downs Branch, The Australian Stock Horse Society, Mick Cuskelly, and John Lyons for their support, it was a pleasure to work with everyone to bring the Memory Lane to life.
