What a fab weekend for Kirkbys Stud with our 5 horses coming home with 6 ribbons from the Western District Campdraft on the weekend.
COOLUM OVATION stole the show, breaking her maiden status in style by winning the Maiden B with two impressive runs—an 88 followed by an 85—for a two-point margin victory. Not content with just one highlight, she then backed it up in the Novice, posting another 88-point round to make the final. True to her nickname Miss Consistency, she’s now placed in every second campdraft she’s entered. A remarkable effort for this ever-reliable mare.
KASPERS VERSACE also had a stellar weekend, placing 4th in both the Open and Restricted Open, and was hot on Ovation’s tail vying for the Miss Consistency title. Versace continues to prove her worth as a versatile mare capable of always competing strongly.
KIRKBYS STUD MARVEL was another standout performer, showing consistency throughout the weekend to finish equal 3rd in the Maiden A and equal 6th in the Novice. This was her first outing with Murph, and the pair clicked beautifully—an exciting sign of what’s to come as their partnership develops.
Our resident stallion, KIRKBYS STUD ELVIS, once again demonstrated why he’s such an asset to the team. He delivered two smooth, powerful runs to secure 3rd place in the Open, showing both composure and style against a competitive field. His growing consistency with Murph keeps building his reputation as both a performer and a sire.
MACNAMARA CONBRACE rounded out the team’s results, making the both the Novice and Open Finals, Although, luck didn’t fall her way for a placing, her performances across two high-level drafts proved her reliability and growing ability.
